WACK Founder Announces 5 J-pop Groups Disbandments

The founder and former director of WACK, a Japanese music firm, published a “Declaration of Defeat” via the website of Natalie Music, in which he built upon the disbandments of several J-pop groups. WACK founder Junnosuke Watanabe released the list of J-pop groups going to disband in the near future, which includes ExWHYZ, GANG PARADE, KiSS KiSS, ASP, and BiTE A SHOCK. He also referred to the music label’s journey so far as its first phase and reaffirmed that the company will restart its journey in 2027.

WACK Founder Statement Drifting Chaos

Junnosuke Watanabe started WACK in August 2014 and introduced a bunch of groups over the years. However, with the end of an era, WACK will reboot itself in 2027 with new artists and have a more global focus. According to Watanabe, past WACK artists and even strangers were invited for auditions, and the first deadline for the WACK auditions will be January 31, 2026. In all this chaos and decisions, MAMESHIBA NO TAiGUN remained the only unit not to disband. Maybe because WACK created MAMESHIBA NO TAiGUN in partnership with Tower Records.

However, currently, all 6 WACK groups are indulging in a tour “Where the End Begins’ before the official end of an era by the WACK. The tour is expected to take place in various cities in Japan on January 10, 2026.
