Contract Changes or Super Junior is going to disband?
When Kyuhyun appeared on Park Myung Soo’s YouTube channel. During the episode, Defconn asked Kyuhyun why he decided to change his agency to Antenna. SM Entertainment officials might be watching this, Park Myung Soo jokingly said to Kyuhyun. Firstly, the idol got shocked by the question, but later on he explained it with honesty and emphasized that he still signed with SM Entertainment but for “Super Junior Activities”.
“I moved (agencies) to challenge myself musically. I also signed a separate contract with Super Junior; there won’t be many changes”. Said Kyuhyun.
Before going further, it’s important to highlight that “SUPER JUNIOR is not disbanding” as Kyuhyun states that Super Junior is not going anywhere, which means no disbandment. So what’s Kyuhyun with Antenna?
Kyuhyun signed a contract with Antenna in August 2023, after he decided to end ties with SM for his solo activities. In an announcement on 7 August, Antenna stated, “ We recently signed an exclusive contract with Kyuhyun Who is active as Super Junior’s main vocalist and an emotional ballad singer as well as on various variety programs. We plan on actively supporting Kyuhyun’s wide breadth of activities in various ways, so please show note of support for those who are standing at a new starting line.”
Upon the announcement to the media, Antenna also released a minute-long video of Kyuhyun posing in his first photoshoot under the company.
Is there any conflict or dissatisfaction between SM and Kyuhyun?
When Kyuhyun was asked what his reason to leave SM Entertainment behind, He stated that his move wasn’t due to any conflict or dissatisfaction with the agency, but he wanted new musical challenges and growth in his life.
