Legendary BTS member, Kim Taehyung, aka V, has broken his silence for the first time after his private messages with former ADOR CEO Min Hee-Jin were reportedly submitted as evidence in a legal case against HYBE, his “own company” without his knowledge or consent. The singer has expressed his feelings on Instagram. He expressed that conversations are meant to be private, and he is surprised and concerned that his private life is now a part of the public court documents.

On Friday, Taehyung wrote in his Instagram story, “This is part of a private everyday conversation that I shared with empathy because they were my acquaintances. I have absolutely no intention of taking sides with either party. However, I feel extremely disturbed that this conversation was submitted as evidence without my consent.”

V has cleared that these messages were a part of their ordinary chat and that he was never meant to get involved in the dispute. In another statement, he wrote, “It was part of a private, everyday conversation that we shared because we were acquaintances. I had no intention of taking anyone’s side. According to the reports of BBC (British Broadcasting Channel) HYBE, the parent organisation of ADOR, the same larger company behind BTS, is going to sue NZJ Danielle, one of her family members, and Min Hee-jin (CEO of ADOR) for $30 million for damaging and breaking the exclusive contract with the agency. Ador stated, “We have determined that it will be difficult for her to continue working with us. Therefore, we have notified her of the termination of her exclusive contract. Furthermore, we plan to hold one family member of Danielle and former CEO Min Hee Jin, who are significantly responsible for causing this dispute and the delayed return of NJZ, legally accountable.”

Min Hee Jin, former CEO of ADOR (Under HYBE), won the case against HYBE. On 12 February, the 31st Civil Division of the Seoul Central District court held a ruling on the  HYBE case against the former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin, to confirm the termination of the shareholder agreement and lawsuit filed by the CEO against HYBE, for seeking payment for the stock purchase price related exercise. The court dismissed HYBE’s claim.

Seoul Central District Court states that, “HYBE’s claim stands dismissed, and HYBE will bear the legal costs. Further, Min Hee Jin’s exercise of the put option is legitimate, and HYBE must pay about $17.6 million USD.”

BTS Army has always been very protective of their idols, and “V” has been a favourite of many fans worldwide. When his name was dragged into this, without his constent fans were quick to call it invading the privacy of the artist, as without his consent, the chat was shared in the court, as evidence (reportedly), as HYBE is the parent organization that manages the activities of BTS, and it can create problems for the artist.

While V’s statement shows emotional maturity. He neither attacked nor defended either side. Instead, he calmly clarified his position and reaffirmed neutrality. That clarity may ultimately help stabilise the narrative.

Comeback of BTS – “ARIRANG”
