One such incident happened with K-pop group I-DLE member Minie. Minie hurt herself during the MAMA awards performance rehearsal and was later seen in a wheelchair at the airport. Same with Stray Kids’ Lee Know, who slipped off a stair mid-performance and later used a wheelchair to commute inside the airport before departure.

K-pop Idol Injuries During the MAMA Awards
A bunch of K-pop idols were seen struggling mid-performance due to injuries during the rehearsal or on-stage while performing. At the MAMA Awards, K-pop group I-DLE performed their new release “Good Thing.” While performing on stage, fans noticed Minie struggling and limping mid-performance, which was later revealed that I-DLE Minie had injured herself while stepping down from a sofa during the group rehearsal. Despite a strained foot, Minie performed and took the stage as per the plan. The next day, I-DLE Minie was seen in a wheelchair at an airport, confirming her injury. K-pop fans praised her professionalism and love for music.

The next day, K-pop male group Stray Kids took the stage by storm, but mid-performance, Stray Kids Lee Know twisted his ankle while stepping down a couple of stairs. However, he completed the performance with the same energy and professionalism. Later, when Stray Kids appeared to collect the Worldwide Fans’ Choice Award (Daesang), other group members were seen supporting Lee Know to walk. At the airport departure, like I-DLE Minie, Lee Know was seen sitting in a wheelchair due to an injury.

Aespa Winter opened with Aespa’s hits like Dirty Winter and Rich Man on a raised platform alone, holding a guitar in hand. Within minutes of the performance, Aespa Winter hurt herself with the guitar strings. Notice that performance has just started; therefore, Aespa Winter had no choice but to perform. Fans noticed Aespa Winter glancing over her injured hand while maintaining the choreography and flow of the performance. These are examples of safety concerns faced by the idols at one of the biggest award ceremonies across the world.

It honours remarkable contributions in the fields of music, songs, albums, and new acts by worthy artists and groups. Active for 26 years, the MAMA Awards 2025 were held on November 28 to 29, 2025, at Kai Tak Stadium in Hong Kong. Over the years, the award show has expanded its reach and transformed itself into a global event with many international broadcasts and fans from all around the world attending the MAMA award ceremony 2025.
This year, the MAMA Awards mourn the recent fire in Hong Kong, and all the artists wore black ribbons.
