Bae Jin-young, a former Wanna One member, decided to part ways with CN Entertainment after 5 years of constant dedication that he showed towards the group. After his contract terminated, both sides announced an official statement reflecting gratitude and confirmation of Bae’s departure. The rest of the four members continued their activities with the agency, but it is of great importance to note the following:

2026: 7-Year Curse And Official Confirmation Of Disbandment

As CIX debuted in 2019, it was about to make 7 years anniversary in 2026. In the K-pop industry, the “7-year curse” is a widely known phenomenon that describes every group’s struggles to make it through their 7th year, as already discussed. Fans were already discussing a 7-year course in reference to CIX and were worried. On the other hand, by late 2025, the group was already facing visible struggles and instability due to lineup changes. On April 29, 2026, the group’s agency, C9 Entertainment, released an official announcement claiming that, as BX and Seunghun’s contracts will end in a day on Thursday, Younghee’s contract will end soon, as she has applied for military enlistment, and Hynsuk is wrapping up his ongoing drama, the group has decided to end its activities and disband.

All four members decided to end their journey and continue with their solo careers. As of now, no last promotion or anniversary event is planned to see off the fans on a good note.

“Hello. This is C9 Entertainment.

We are announcing CIX’s future activities. CIX, who has spent the past seven years with their fans engaging in various activities after debuting on July 21, 2019, will now be halting their group activities.

Although we repeatedly engaged in serious and in-depth discussions with the members over several months about continuing group activities, everyone ultimately came to the agreement that, at this point, halting group activities is unavoidable.”

“Accordingly, as of April 30, our exclusive contracts with members BX and Seunghun will end. Additionally, following the decision to halt group activities, member Yonghee voluntarily applied for military enlistment, and after undergoing basic military training at a training center starting on May 11, he will fulfill his military duty in the army as an active-duty soldier.

Yonghee’s exclusive contract will end at the time of his enlistment, and there will be no separate event held on the day of his enlistment.
